Salted Maple Granola
A bag of granola costs what?! Life hack: make your own using your fave flavor combos and have it on hand for the week ✨
Inspired by Chrissy Teigen’s salted maple granola recipe, this one is actually refined sugar free and works just as great :) Add any mix ins of your choice, substitute with any other nuts, or even use seeds like sesame and pumpkin to make this allergy friendly. Recipe below and let me know if you give it a try!
2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup almonds (slivered or chopped)
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup hemp hearts (optional)
1/3-1/2 cup maple syrup (depending on how sweet you like it!)
1/3 cup coconut sugar
1/4 cup avocado oil
2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Salt to taste preference (I go with about 1 1/2 teaspoons of pink Himalayan salt, or 1 tsp of white kosher salt)
Preheat oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Roughly chop your almonds and pecans and combine in a bowl along with the oats
In a separate bowl whisk together maple syrup, coconut sugar, avocado oil, vanilla, and salt
Combine wet with dry, mix and lay flat on the baking tray to bake for about 25 minutes, stirring about 3-4 times through and packing it tight before the last bake.
Let cool COMPLETELY before breaking into desired granola chunks to ensure your granola is crunchy
Enjoy on top of yogurt, with milk, or as a snack!
